I attended this webinar by Sam Gavis which was a precursor to his new course. I decided the course was not suitable for me, but the information gleaned was interesting.
The most interesting aspect is about the portion about recreating things without the aid of a reference. Writing a piece of code or an algorithm without looking at the solution. I think this is an important pointer for myself. It is okay to view the solutions until I reach a point wherein I do not need to. How else would I be able to progress if I get perennially stuck on a problem?
The other point of note is about the importance of stressing on a strategy to solve problems rather than the memorisation of an algorithm.
On a side note. It actually feels great to review these notes and put together a blog post for my Wiki. These notes were meant to be published with my comments anyway and it was long overdue.
Another side note on oddmuse wiki. It was a pleasure to upload multiple photos into a blog post. With a quick drag and drop I was able to use the browser to upload all the photos, and individual pages with each photo was automatically created via the image-upload module.
Here are my notes from the live webinar :
The notes are recorded on the app Goodnotes using an Apple Pencil on a 11" iPad Pro
